October 16th & 17th, 2010
Great Lakes Rooms, NMU, Marquette

SHOW POSTER NOW AVAILABLE BY CLICKING HERE

Plans for the Marquette County Quilters' Association bi-annual quilt show "Autumn Comforts" are well underway.  Many past committee chairs have once again stepped forward to help and many new guild members have volunteered to chair a committee.  Please refer to the committee roster on the Officers/Committees web page and consider volunteering in an area that interests you. We need the help of all guild members to make the 2010 show bigger and better than ever.

Registration and payment has already been received by several vendors for this year's show.

Bookmarks have been completed and were distributed to shops for the Shop Hop and are available to members.  Please contact a committee member if you would like to help distribute them as you travel.  The posters are also completed and will be distributed.  If you are traveling, please contact a board member and take some with you.  You can also print them from the website by clicking here

Judy Parlato, Kathy Peters and Ragene Henry have completed a quilting project with a local elementary school class funded by a grant from MQN. These portrait quilts will be exhibited in the youth category at the quilt show.

We are also excited to announce that we will feature the quilts of one of MCQA's oldest members Betty Jannausch.  You won't want to miss seeing her wonderful work.  Also we will have a special exhibit featuring the work of Lenore Crawford our April workshop presenter.
Other exciting additions to this year's show are being planned and will be announced very soon!

MQN Region 1 is hosting a lecture/trunk show on Saturday, October 16th at Bonanza Steakhouse.  Our guest speaker will be award winning quilter Mr. Dan Burke of Lansing.  Plan to make it a quilting weekend with friends.  Additional information about Dan is available by clicking here as well as by viewing the show poster by clicking here.

The committee will be meeting as needed on a monthly basis and we need your help to make this the biggest and best show ever. If you have questions or would like to volunteer, please send an email to:
quilters@marquettequilters.com.

2010 Raffle Quilt
The raffle quilt for 2010 was unveiled at the MCQA Christmas potluck meeting in December.  Three names for the quilt had been suggested by members and a vote was taken at the January meeting.  It was approved to name the quilt "Northern Lights".  A gift certificate was given to Tracey Cairati for suggesting the name that was chosen.  The quilt top was graciously donated by guild member Jane Vandenburg.  Quilting was done by guild member Becky Lutey.   Raffle tickets are now available and were passed out to members at the May 2010 MCQA meeting.  If you weren't at the meeting to pick up your tickets, please contact raffle ticket chairman Judy Parlato to make arrangements to get them.  Several members sold tickets at the Outback Art Fair in July and we are currently filling a schedule to sell tickets at the Marquette County Fair in August.  We need everyone's help to sell a record number of tickets this year!

Autumn Comforts Quilt Show 2008
Take a trip down memory lane while viewing pictures of quilts from our 2008 quilt show.  With over 250 quilted items on display plus a wonderful collection of dolls from Cloth-A-Dolics, the 2008 show was a resounding success.
